Women In Engineering

On March 8th, the world celebrated International Women’s Day. We at Gattica Associates are very proud to support this campaign and would like to celebrate our 57%-woman workforce.

Two of our employees, Trayana and Mihaela recently went to Hamble School to present what it is like to be a woman in engineering to five groups of students, as to inspire more females to follow the profession.

“It was very interesting to see that there were actually a few young ladies who were considering this area of study. We discussed our work environment, opportunities and flexibility on projects. However, most of the students have not yet decided what their future job would be. The event was useful for them to understand that engineering nowadays treats males/females with equality despite the common sense. “

“Sometimes inspiration is all it takes to start dreaming you can do great things, to choose your path or take the first step to a whole new journey. Having a chance to inspire the new generation has been an amazing opportunity and a great honour but having a chance to inspire women (young girls) to choose a career in Engineering was even better. That is what I call an achievement.”

We have also recently hired two new staff members Cathy Hislop, our new Business Development Manager who is looking after the production of our company brochure and Rachael Geddes, our Project Manager looking after the ongoing works at Canada Water. We would like to welcome the new team members aboard and wish them the very best going forward with Gattica Associates Limited.
