Abbey Retail Park

The former Abbey Retail Park is a six acre site bordered by London Road and Abbey Road, overlooking the Abbey Green public open
space. It fronts onto the River Roding, a tributary of the Thames. The site is situated just a short walk from Barking’s mainline and
London underground station.

The regeneration of the site is to create a vibrant new community in Barking, to contribute to the area’s ongoing transformation of
attracting new people and inward investment.

Project Scope

Our Key Responsibilities

• Establishing incoming service points and demand loads for each utility
• Monitoring asset requirements and the impact increasing loads have on the surrounding network
• Designing and coordinating site routing for the utility’s corridor across the site
• Producing combined service drawings, highlighting clash and co-ordination issues
• Liaising and negotiating with affected utility providers to produce a design that is conducive to all stakeholders
• Procuring the site wide loads to supply the development
• Supporting and advising during the construction stage on the final sitewide utility design
